Acting/College PortfolioPreparation

A student actor should have a minimum of 4 contrasting monologues prepared: a comedic and dramatic contemporary, a classic, and a classical monologue.  Each monologue will be customized to fit the personality and interest of the young actor and be specific to what the colleges like to see.  Each actor will study the monologue and its play in depth, utilize various acting techniques, learn character analysis, and understand the art of telling a story through another character.

For an extra fee, we will shoot, edit and prepare filmed auditions to be sent to colleges.  Prices for video production range from  $50-$125 depending on the shoot being during class sessions or booking a session for just preparing the pre-screen filmed auditions.

We suggest a minimum of 4 sessions to help prepare a portfolio of diverse acting techniques.

Focus Training through Participation in the Performing and Visual  Arts

Using visual arts and creative drama technique will help the child  balance between listening and doing.    Participation in the process oriented arts improves children’s abilities to concentrate and focus in other aspects of their lives.  The child will learn how to better focus by being allowed to take risks, make and correct mistakes,  persevere in improving their ideas, problem solve,  and develop critical thinking skills.

If the goal is for the child participation in a formal drama production, audition requirements will be developed through the input of the child understanding the story.   Their interpretation through music and monologues that match the child's curiosity with the demands of the formal play in which they will participate will be enhanced.
